Octa Cultures
Action

Where understanding becomes action.

Octa Cultures works through three pathways that connect what we know with what we do: education, preservation and stakeholder responsibilities. Each one will grow as our relationships, resources and capacity grow.

01 / Education

Learning that sees the whole.

Stewardship begins with understanding. Our educational work turns the Octa Methodology into tools that help people see how the world fits together.

Octa Curriculum

This is an interactive, first-principles introduction to the eight aspects of life on Earth. Every lesson uses real maps, real photos and live data, and shows how everything on our planet is connected. It’s made for students aged 13 to 16 and above, and it’s free for participating teachers.

Models (on our roadmap)

Select intelligence capabilities, developed into models that help people see how conditions on Earth are changing.

02 / Preservation

Protect what still works.

Preservation is our first priority. That means protecting places that are still ecologically functional, before they become severely degraded. It may mean funding preservation work, acquiring land for protection, supporting locally rooted initiatives, or coordinating action through partners.

Each opportunity will be considered within its ecoregional context and through all eight aspects of the Methodology. We’ll weigh factors such as ecological value, degree of threat, the cultures represented, community relationships and feasibility. Where intervention is needed, restoration and regeneration will follow.

Over time, we aim to steward a coordinated network of place-based projects across the Earth.

03 / Stakeholder Responsibilities

Nature has a seat at the table.

Octa HQ, the incubator founded to support Octa Cultures, grows independent enterprises called Fruits. Each one is built on the Octa Methodology, and each is intended to be governed by five stakeholders:

Nature gets paid first.

Under the current model, each stakeholder holds 20% of the voting rights and receives 20% of profit distributions.

Octa Cultures holds the Nature and Methodology seat. From that seat it represents the interests of nature. It guides each enterprise’s ecological and economic sustainability, keeps its work aligned with the Methodology, and starts projects that address or offset harmful impacts. Its share of profits is intended to become physical ecological value: protected habitats, planted trees, sequestered carbon and recovering ecosystems. It will also fund education and the wider mission.

The legal and governance arrangements for this model are still being developed.
